Changing The World

people-who-are-crazy-change-the-world

How will you serve the world? What can your talent provide? Each one of us has something others don’t have and the world is in dire need of but we don’t deeply believe in ourselves enough to explore what it is the world needs from us. We may think we are never ready to offer the world what we have but how will we know if we never allow ourselves to stand in front of the world? You need to deeply think, reflect about a talent that you have, no matter what it is and offer it to the world. You may think, you are only one person, how can I change the world? The Prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings Be Upon Him) was also one person and look at how he has and is still changing the world? You are not a worthless soul but you are valuable and the effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is and through that, you will insha’Allah make the world a better place. Believe in yourself

Solutions: Moving On With Life

life-goes-one

Life isn’t going how you hoped and a lot of things didn’t go your way. You worked extremely hard for that test, exam, projects and many other things. You had hoped to marry that individual after having nothing but good feelings and signs, as you thought, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala was allowing the marriage to happen but it didn’t go your way. Today, you feel like your life is a mess and you can’t seem to understand what is going on or how it happened.

Insha’Allah (if Allah wills), I will give you some solutions on how to get over it

1. Everything is by the permission of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala

You might be thinking in your head, how come? Why did this happen to me? What could I have done to prevent this? As long as you did your best to make things right, you should be proud of yourself not and kick yourself over it. Everything is by the will and permission of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala does say in the Qur’an:

Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record.” [6:59]

Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala also says:

Indeed, all things We created with predestination.” [54:49]

This does not mean Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala wants something bad for you but in something not going your way is good and a trial itself. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala tests those whom He loves and He wants you to turn to Him.

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings Be Upon Him) said: “The greatest reward comes from the greatest trial. When Allah loves people, He tests, and whoever accepts it gains the pleasure of Allah and whoever complains earns his wrath.” [Tirmidhi]

Take it as a sign that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala loves you, accept it with gratitude and be humble. You are a chosen in this hardship which you perceive is bad for you but will only increase your ranks in jannah (heaven). Turn to Him and only He will help you out of this situation.

2. What Has Being Sad Done?

You may have been sad for a few days, weeks or months but what has it done for you? Has it helped your situation or made it worse? Did it change the situation you were once in? No, it hasn’t. While accepting the qadr of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, you need to start being positive about this outcome. You may say, I can’t, my body won’t let me. Im too sad to get over it. This is too hard. You are only saying that because you’ve allowed yourself to believe that. I know you want to get over it and move on with your life but you need to pick yourself up and start moving your feet. You can’t be negative thinking this has been bad for you. Maybe if you moved on with your life and accepted this, good things starting happening? Just because one door closes, doesn’t mean another door isn’t opening. And just because you may have failed in something, doesn’t mean you won’t succeed in something else. Behind every successful person, there’s a lot of unsuccessful years. Everything will take time but it is time for you to move on with your life.

3. Life Is Going On With Or Without You

Tomorrow is going to come, the date is going to change, the sun is going to go up, then go down and the moon is going to appear. A minute goes by without your permission and then an hour, and then a full day. Do you see, life doesn’t need your permission and the universe doesn’t need your permission to change. In a few weeks, months or next year, you will get older without your permission. Every single day is precious and you are wasting it by sulking in something that you cannot no longer change. What you can do though is change the condition you are in now. You can start moving on with your life and start to plan for better things. You can be optimistic about better things to come. Don’t wait until you are 40 or 60 or even close to death, wishing you moved on with your life, instead of being broken up about something that was out of your control. You have the ability to change your condition, your sadness by looking at things in a positive way and moving on with life, just as each day is moving on without you.

4. Say Alhumdulilah (thanks to Allah)

Say Alhumdulilah (thanks to Allah ) for guiding you away from possible harm in which you thought was a blessing. Your life may have even turned for the worse if that particular thing did happen. Maybe it would have led you away from Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and instead, it has brought you closer and this is increasing your ranks in jannah every single day you are alive. How beautiful is that you are being rewarded with what Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has promised in his glorious Quran? The fruits of jannah, the rivers of jannah and the house in jannah, all because you stayed patient and you thanked Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala for it. There is no better reward in this life ever and the reward in the hereafter is much better so aim for that.

Insha’Allah, this has helped you overcome or even helped you feel a bit better about what you have went through in your life. Take advantage of every breathe, take advantage of every single day you are alive. You aren’t going to be able to press rewind on it, so live it like it is your last. Don’t let life bring you down and don’t allow your failures to prevent you from being successful and don’t allow the hardships of this life, take you away from the blessings you have been given.

You Can Walk Away

And+I+Walk+Away,+or+How+I+Finally+Decided+to+Quit+Teaching

Learn to let go of negative people in your life. If the individual isn’t bringing you up but constantly putting you down, then they shouldn’t be apart of your life. Why be around people or be with someone who doesn’t help you grow but keep you depressed? Why be with someone who constantly takes advantage of you? Do you enjoy being a doormat? It doesn’t take much courage to walk away, it just takes you knowing you deserve better than what you are receiving now.

You may think, there isn’t someone better but the truth is, there is ALWAYS better. Stop thinking you don’t deserve it when you know, you do. Walk away, let go of misery and depression that comes packaged in a person. You weren’t created to be abused and misused but you were created to be loved for the sake ofAllah subhanahu wa ta’ala and grow with those individuals to be successful, to grow in eman (faith) and to insha’Allah, enter jannah.

I’ve learned to let go of those who put me down because they were doing me no good. Everyday, surrounded with people who would suck the energy out of me. Would call me worthless or would call me a bum. I knew, I was neither of those and I knew, they weren’t deserving of me. I’ve learned to go towards what I deserve in life. Everything is the decree of Allah but you have a choice whether you want to endure pain and hardship from people. People you choose to keep in your life. This is something you CAN make better, so don’t settle for the abuse nor settle for hearing cultural backlash. You are allowed to walk away despite what your culture thinks or what your parents think. They aren’t enduring abuse, you are.

Learn to walk away. There is never too late, there is just now. You are the now.

Purchase my book “The Strongest Version Of Yourself” and insha’Allah, it’ll help you through many things in your life.

Accepting Yourself

file_129_3

We care too much what others think about us, without actually accepting what we think about ourselves. We value other people’s opinions of us, instead of what we think of ourselves. Sometimes, people are right about us but not all the time. If you are always waiting for someone’s opinion of you, to make you feel valuable, to make you feel loved, then you are in for many years of downs, rather than ups. Learn to accept yourself and be confident about who you are becoming. You’ll see things in yourself that you’ve never seen before because you’ve always expected people to see something in you first, then you accepted it.

Acceptance is one of the topics I cover in my book. You can purchase it here:

A Piece Of Me

tumblr_mop62qwtko1r4lwqvo1_500

I was always told quite a lot through out my younger years that I would amount to nothing. People closest to me, always compared me to others and what they have achieved academically, while I was struggling in school. I wasn’t struggling because I was dumb or slow but because I was lazy, as I didn’t care what went on in class. I didn’t have the highest self-esteem growing up nor did I have a positive influence in my life. The biggest influence in my life, to be honest with you all was WWF. I went through depression, I went to very low points in my life. I made extremely bad decisions following my whims and desires. I used to give up on things very easily and anytime something became challenging, I would give up.

But, there was always something inside of me, a fire, a desire to prove people wrong, that I wasn’t going to be as they said I am. I wasn’t going to be compared to people and that there is something about me through hours of writing I used to do. Pages and books filled with poetry and lyrics I used to write, that there was a gift there, a potential that wasn’t explored properly. I didn’t want to be like others. I didn’t care to be a doctor, a lawyer, a pharmacist. I didn’t care about numbers. I didn’t care about sitting behind a desk all day and make money the easy way. I had a problem with authority and I never liked it from the beginning because I always found myself to myself, creating things in my head and then writing them down or drawing things on a piece of paper.

I wasn’t going to let the people of this world decide who I should be and what I should do with my time. I wasn’t going to let heart breaks make me bitter towards other people I don’t know. i wasn’t going to let anything stop me from being who I am.

As I grew older, I began to take risk. I began to to get my feet wet and If I was going to drown, by all means, I would drown but I wasn’t going to let the negativity I grew up around prevent me from exploring the gifts I had. I knew, as soon as I got my feet wet and stopped caring what others thought of me, I would eventually find a piece of my purpose in this world, that it is to inspire people. It is to motivate people. I wasn’t created to fear people. I wasn’t created to worry what others had to say about me. I was created for my own purpose and I didn’t allow myself to see that because I listened to everyone. Because I thought they knew what was best for me, so I let them choose what was best. I thought I was going to end up a failure in life. I thought I wasn’t going to amount to nothing. And all of that just made me desire more in my life. It made me search inside of myself and find happiness that cannot be replaced.

I know, Allah SWT didn’t create you and I to be followers, except to be followers of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings Be Upon Him). There is a beautiful message we can learn from the Prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings Be Upon Him), if you read his biography. He never gave up in life and no matter how people treated him, no matter how people were with him or against him, he never gave up on his purpose in this world, that was to spread the message of tawheed (oneness) in Islam and he lived to do just that, moving hearts and people in a direction closer to Allah SWT. His purpose has been fulfilled in this world and it continues to spread amongst billions of people and thousands are converting everyday. We can learn from this and it shows that, no matter what your purpose in life is, which should be firstly to worship Allah SWT, after that, go towards it. Don’t ever give up and no matter what people say to you, how they say it. They give you pain, they make you cry, don’t stop going towards your own purpose. Be a leader in this life and continuously follow your heart by having complete faith in Allah SWT. Don’t be a copy but be an original.

If you never take risk and you always worry what others will or might say, you may never be who you are supposed to become. I am who I am today because I stopped caring what the world had to say to me, in a negative way, to put me down and I looked at it as a push in a direction to find myself. I am who I am today because I took risks and challenged myself and when things became challenging, I never gave up. I am who I am today because I put Allah SWT first, have complete trust in Him with everything I do and follow through with it. I am…. insha’Allah, what Allah SWT created me to be. A person who is going to inspire, motivate and change people’s lives with the best of my ability.

Food For Thought II

food-for-thought-logo-reversed

I think a lot of times, we let our emotions blind us when things don’t go our way or from things that have fallen apart. What we need to do is open our eyes to all the things we have been blessed with and things that are currently going good in our lives. We also need to think of all the evil we have been protected from and how merciful Allah SWT has been to us, even though we disobey Him constantly. The blessings we currently have in our lives should be more than enough to keep us happy and the blessings to come, should keep us optimistic of what Allah SWT has in store for us.

Look at the bright side of things when things don’t go how you hoped or expected. You live to breathe another day, while others may not. That is by far the biggest blessing each one of us are given every single day of our lives. Every single day is an opportunity for you to overcome something in your life. For you to recreate yourself in so many ways. For you to overcome fears. For you to create a better way that has been presented with the blessing called life. If you constantly keep yourself down and remind yourself of things that have fallen apart and you repeat that memory in your head, you will keep yourself from all that is beautiful currently happening in your life.

People come, people go but you, YOU, yes, YOU, exist and present yourself with a lesson to take on and to smile, while those around you, those loyal to you, those you live with, those who have struggled and battled with you have been there all along.

Life is indeed beautiful but we remain hopeless from things that were never meant for us or things that have broken us down. You remind yourself you are broken when you are not and even if you are, somethings are recreated, rebuilt even stronger than before. You have that opportunity to do so much with your life but it begins with taking the emotions from your eyes and also from your heart that weighs so heavily on your soul. Reminding yourself of the constant blessings in your life and all that you have been protected from.

You see, behind those lips lays a beautiful smile that cheers someone up and behind that skin lays a beautiful soul so many appreciate but we take for granted and never appreciate. Take a moment to remind yourself of what you have in your life currently. Just remind yourself of one thing. Whether it be your children, your parents, your siblings, your chance to live another day. Whatever it may be and appreciate that. These are beautiful blessings that been given to us every single day of our lives and some day, may not be with us anymore. Don’t let your emotions blind you from all that is good in your life.

You may not have what you want because you aren’t either ready for it or it is not good for you, that is Allah SWT protecting you and indeed giving you something better and that knowledge only exists with Him. Be patient. Your just due will come. In the mean time, appreciate what you have and I promise you, you’ll live a better life without all the worrying and all the past you’ve been holding on to. It’s doing you no good and just blinding you from what is currently going on in your life. Breathe, smile, say Alhumdulilah and go have yourself your favourite dessert or something that makes you happy because you deserve it, you earned it. Now, stop worrying. Make duaa, put in effort every single day and let Allah SWT work. Everything will work with perfection if you have complete reliance in Allah SWT. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine…… you will be fine, smile.
