A Personal Choice

Choices

Sometimes, you need to make a personal choice in order for your life to get better. You can hope, wish, dream, write things down but everything in life requires an effort from you in order to get things moving. You think you need permission from an individual in order to get your life straight. You think you need permission from an individual in order to chase your goals. You don’t need permission from anyone, you just need confidence and firm belief in Allah subhana wata’ala with a positive mind set that things can change.

We all aspire for change in our lives but it will always begin with a choice and an effort. Don’t allow others to make a choice that you will regret living with but make choices that will benefit you and never, ever, follow the crowd. Learn to stand out on your own. It’s mind boggling that people aspire to be like others when Allah subhana wata’ala created only one of you. The way I see it is, people influence you and you take what they’ve shared and turn into something. You don’t become like them and create more and more clones. Originality is so rare today, that when we come across someone who is original, they are labeled as weird and sometimes, people are weirdo’s.

Stop allowing others to dictate your life, your work place, your train of thought and be something of your own. Be who you want to be, as long as is within the limits and boundaries of Al-Islaam. Break barriers, don’t stay within them. You’ve been given intelligence that you don’t put to use because you are so afraid of the after effects that don’t even exist, then you wake up disgruntled with how life is going, only for you to do the same thing you hate to do everyday. What kind of life is that?

This is why, whatever you decide to do in life, make sure it is a choice you are willing to live with and if you can’t, then you’ll end up waking up with no purpose and no where to go. Be driven by passion, plan your day around your salah (prayers) and insha’Allah (if Allah wills) you will be successful. Success begins with a personal choice, so make sure it is you who is making the choices in your life and not someone who doesn’t care about you or wants you to work like a robot and be only driven by money. Money will always be there even after you are gone but you wont be, so do your best to live a memorable life. Do things that you’ve never done before. Challenge yourself. Take risks and most important of all, put Allah subhana wata’ala first then do whatever it is you’ve set out to do. Have a purpose, live out your vision and don’t let anyone stop you.

Expectations Vs Reality

expectations

If you are not married as of yet, asl yourself if it is your expectations that have been pushing away the potentials that you have come across. Every person has a right to expectations but sometimes it is our own expectations that may seem unrealistic or fantasy like that destroys something that could have been good. If all you are looking for is wealth, know that this wealth will not help you buy to fix your marital problems. If you are looking for degrees, know these degrees can’t help you fix your marital problems.

Look for something within the individual that no wealth can acquire and no degree can earn. Each of us have this uniquely, blessed gift, called personality and characteristics. These are two treasures each of us hold and no matter where you search in the world, you will not find someone with the same. You may find someone who has something better but the search for something better may come too late or may never come.

Hold onto someone who has been blessed to come your way with a positive attitude, personality, characteristics and someone you are also attracted to. Wealth is required to build a home but does not build love, compassion, sympathy, closeness, romance, sweetness and more, nor do degrees. Look to build with what you’ve been blessed with and know it is Allah SWT that will provide through his rizq (provisions) to make your marriage the best it can be, as long as effort is made.

We all have choices in life. Make the best choice that will build a happy home and not a broken home when a degree no longer matters and wealth disappears.

Just A Random Thought

critical-thinking

Our parents want us to be a reflection of them, proud, eager, almost like trophies held up in the air, pounding their chest but at the same time, many parents want us to reflect their dreams and their goals which they did not accomplish due to the way they lived their life. It is in this dream, their goals, they also want us to reflect that and in that we lose ourselves. We lose the value of our gifts, we lose our skills and abilities, while they push us to pursue theirs subconsciously. Parents of course want us to succeed but what is it we are actually succeeding in? Are we just succeeding in pursuing their goals and dreams, which they weren’t able to attain due to certain circumstances? Doctors, lawyers, dentists or whatever it may be that seems to be tied to the word “success”? What is success if that is just tied to certain careers based on other people’s perception? If the perception is all that mattered, attaining this title just to reflect or embody their goals which they dreamed of finally came true through their children, what is success to you? Has success been tied to their dreams and their goals? What about you? How do you feel about success? What is success to you? What is that you love to do or is what you love to do based on what your parents want you to do? Have you ever learned to think of what makes you happy in a career that no matter the money involved or the life involved, it will matter to you in the end? It will put a smile on your face or what your parents have influenced you into doing is really what you want to do? Have you been able to find your potential or have your skills, your God given talents and abilities lost in this transition which have been influenced through a perception of success based on their goals and dreams? Ask yourself, are you living out theirs or are you living yours? What is it that you really love to do, sit down and think about it. Ask yourself is money the only thing that matters? It is true we need money to attain a living. To feed and shelter our family or ourselves but money is never tied into permanent happiness, so if you live for the dollar, then you are not truly living for yourself and will never find what you are trying to attain because the goals never end. Ask yourself, are you doing what you love to do today or are you doing what has been taught to you, influenced through a career which is perceived as successful?
