Think & Be Positive

* Authors Note – There are several proofs why music is haram. A lot of people seem to take Ibn Hazm (may Allah have mercy upon him) proof on making it permissible but the scholars have said, it is haram. Even The Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings be upon him) said, there will be a day where several things people will make them halal and one of them was music. One of the sites I like to use for finding answers for Islam is http://www.islamqa.com .. You can find and research the proofs yourself.

  1. Mash’Allah, really like this blog! I stopped listening to music when i learnt of the history of how music came into existence. From the simple banging of a drum, shaytān managed to deviate so many hearts towards sounds, melodies, musical instruments. I also read somewhere this really beautiful thing about paradise (can’t remember where it was from) but it was something like: if they think the songs of this world are beautiful, if only they heard the melodies of paradise. It completely mesmorized me… What does Allah swt have instore for our ears in Jannah. Every inch of us will experience pleasure there.. So giving up a few songs wouldnt be that difficult in this dunya? I also started to hate all the songs that were being produced.. Aside from the fact that the lyrics are filthy, the music itself is devlish and gives me a headache! There isnt really anything original anyway, because most songs are a collection of chords which are complimentary… And if you notice a lot of songs do sound the same. Anyway, its still a struggle for people in my family to stop listening to music, but I will say that to stop listening, you have to understand why it was first created.. And in the end it leads towards shaytān..

    • Masha’Allah! It is difficult to get away from it but the further you are, the better it is for you in every single way. Im happy, alhumdulilah, you stopped listening to music as well 🙂
