Each of us are beautifully unique in our own way. With our skills, abilities, personality and character and many do not recognize this. We live in a society where everything is compared to other people’s lives as if our own is not unique and blessed itself. Each persons blessings and gifts are different but it is constantly subjected to where what they have, is what we should have and the blessings we have are just not enough or worthy enough to be thankful for. Let’s stop trying to “keep up with the Jones” and keep up with ourselves. If we do that we would be much happier with everything in our lives because we are happy everything Allah has blessed us with. You are different and every person on the planet is different. Blessed with a different lifestyle, character, personality, and it’ll always be that way. If you waste your life comparing and trying to keep up, you’ll fail living your life while trying to compete with people who aren’t even competing with you. You are in your own race, trying to build a life of your own with everything you’ve been blessed with and not with others blessings that never reach your hands. Only do as much as you can and be happy with what you’ve been blessed with. You’ll live a much more happier life.
The mind can only carry one thought at a time. Whether that thought you are thinking of is negative or positive, you choose it. So whenever you come across a negative thought, you will substitute that thought with something positive in order for you to reinforce and reiterate the positive thought to wash the negative thought away. If you choose the negative thought, you will more than likely carry this as a burden which eventually cause a break down in your happiness and well being. Would you rather have a garden full of flowers or weeds? The weeds represent the negative thoughts and the flowers represent your positive thoughts. The weeds are destructive to the garden, just as a negative thought is destructive to the mind and the flowers are beautiful for the garden, just as a positive thought is beautiful for the mind. It is always encouraged to substitute your negative thoughts with your positive thoughts, as this will enable you to be happy and lead you to a more successful lifestyle.
95% of your emotions are determined by the way you talk to yourself. This is called “explanatory style.” Whatever events have taken place in your life and how you speak to yourself about them, whether negative or positive, will determine how you feel about them. It is always BEST, BEST, BEST, to speak to yourself about the events that have unfolded and are unfolding in a positive light, to help you have a positive mindset, in order to set yourself up to be the strongest version of yourself. The more you speak to yourself in a positive light, the more you will feel better about what has transpired and what will transpire in the future. It will help you progress and walk towards what you want without holding you back by regretting what has already happened. The more you speak to yourself in a negative light, how you feel about yourself over what has transpired and what will transpire in the future, the worse you will feel and the more you will bring yourself down. The more you will hold yourself back from being the strongest version of yourself. It is essential to think positively about yourself, the events in your life, no matter how bad they seem to have a healthy mind and a healthy body.
Know the value of yourself and never let anyone ever put a value on you. Never let anyone put a value on your success or how you succeed because they are just individuals who are looking in from the outside. They never know what it has taken to be successful and what it’ll take to be successful. You never have anything to prove to anyone except yourself. The competition that you seem to be in, is a competition with yourself. There are no competitors in this race except the mind which you’ll need to overcome when you doubt your ability and where you are going.
It is not about the instant results because they are less satisfying but the results that come from continuous work, a struggle, a hardship, will make you satisfied and proud. Know a hardship is building an efficient, strong minded individual who has endured an experience that has left the mind to grow and mature.
Anything given easy, anything that you didn’t work for, that was just handed to you, will make you lazy, comfortable and will leave you no desire to progress, except to be given more. Comfort is the destroyer of change, so never get too comfortable where you are and always look to where you want to be. The past is building blocks for the present situation you are in and the present itself, will build a future for you, the future you want as long as the belief that whatever comes your way is never perceived as negative to bring you down. To take you away from what you thought was yours.
Always work towards what you want and look to excel in it, no matter what it is. A positive mind, makes for a healthy body and a negative mind will slowly destroy your health and yourself, it will also never let you progress to where you should be in life. Always think positive, no matter the shortcomings in life, no matter the hardships in life. You are being led in a direction that will benefit your life in the near future but you must constantly remind yourself to be positive about what has missed you cause it was going to miss you regardless and what is meant for you, was always going to make its course towards you. This doesn’t mean, you live lifeless with no functions at all but be functional and be functional in a direction of change that you would want in your life. For a life that you will want for the betterment of not only for yourself but for your family as well.
What you think of yourself, is how other will receive you, so think good, be confident and insha’Allah you’ll be received well. Complain less and be thankful more. It’ll take stress off the mind and help you receive the blessings with the fullness they should be received in.
This is just some random thoughts for this evening which I’d thought I’d share with you. Thanks for reading. Insha’Allah, it helps.
There is tremendous power in your ability to achieve. Don’t ever doubt yourself or your ability. Don’t ever think you are a failure. Don’t ever think you are a bum. You are neither of those. A bum or a failure and never have been. Believe in the ability you possess because it makes you beautiful and makes everything about you beautiful as well. Do what you love and do it from your heart. If you do that, you will achieve whatever it is you want. Believe in yourself and make progress. Every single water that drips into that soil is making progress for that plant to grow. It doesn’t grow over night or in 2 days but in a month or more. So don’t be upset about that progress that you don’t see but be encouraged by the progress you are making to see that achievement being fulfilled. It’ll happen in due time. Don’t stop, keep going forward.
Our parents want us to be a reflection of them, proud, eager, almost like trophies held up in the air, pounding their chest but at the same time, many parents want us to reflect their dreams and their goals which they did not accomplish due to the way they lived their life. It is in this dream, their goals, they also want us to reflect that and in that we lose ourselves. We lose the value of our gifts, we lose our skills and abilities, while they push us to pursue theirs subconsciously. Parents of course want us to succeed but what is it we are actually succeeding in? Are we just succeeding in pursuing their goals and dreams, which they weren’t able to attain due to certain circumstances? Doctors, lawyers, dentists or whatever it may be that seems to be tied to the word “success”? What is success if that is just tied to certain careers based on other people’s perception? If the perception is all that mattered, attaining this title just to reflect or embody their goals which they dreamed of finally came true through their children, what is success to you? Has success been tied to their dreams and their goals? What about you? How do you feel about success? What is success to you? What is that you love to do or is what you love to do based on what your parents want you to do? Have you ever learned to think of what makes you happy in a career that no matter the money involved or the life involved, it will matter to you in the end? It will put a smile on your face or what your parents have influenced you into doing is really what you want to do? Have you been able to find your potential or have your skills, your God given talents and abilities lost in this transition which have been influenced through a perception of success based on their goals and dreams? Ask yourself, are you living out theirs or are you living yours? What is it that you really love to do, sit down and think about it. Ask yourself is money the only thing that matters? It is true we need money to attain a living. To feed and shelter our family or ourselves but money is never tied into permanent happiness, so if you live for the dollar, then you are not truly living for yourself and will never find what you are trying to attain because the goals never end. Ask yourself, are you doing what you love to do today or are you doing what has been taught to you, influenced through a career which is perceived as successful?
To be honest with you I really dislike having a negative state of mind. I always want to push in a direction which is more fitting for the mind, the body and the soul. I’ve also been through things in my life alhumduliah, which has allowed me to be a certain way, to be the person I am. You know, things happen in your life and you can either stay the way you are, bitter, sad, depressed, worrying about what has gone and was not ever meant to be or you can move on and be with what is meant to be and know that Allah is controller of the affairs. When you become upset about things that aren’t in your control, because in reality, we do have choices in our lives but you also have a choice to progress with what you go through. Some people don’t do nothing with their experiences, they stay in them believing everything that has happened was to harm them and people are only out to get them. People are not really in that sense. Many come as lessons to teach you about yourself and the character, the person you really are. Some are there to test your patience, every aspect of it. Some are there to test your eman (faith) and would you be willing to sell yourself to the shaytan and doubt everything Allah has created, so I never think that way, never negative. Allah has created us as very intelligent individuals and it is sad to see that we don’t see ourselves that way. We always look for others to reassure our skills and abilities. We always look for acceptance. Who is willing to accept me and my ability? My beauty? My car? My job? When all these things have been a gift to you but you have not yet discovered it and I do believe, we as people waste our potential on petty things. When you teach one person, you teach the masses. That person learns from you and teaches someone else, whether they consciously know it or not. It’s like a mother and the children. The mother, the parent, is one and the children are many but so many lessons are being taught from that single form of creation, which Allah has blessed with intelligence and experience. I’ve always wanted to be a writer and it’s has been the best form of expression for me. It has helped me a lot whenever I went through things. What you notice is people look at the results, the instant results. What can I get instantly? But the long term effects are the results you really need. It’s like having a vegetable garden to feed your family and you want it to grow so quickly as soon as you plant those seeds but through the months or years or whatever it may be, it feeds more than just 1 family cause there are enough in that garden to go around. Those are results that matter. Of course, short term results are satisfying but if you always got them, what would be the point of even working your butt off? What would the point of always trying to challenge yourself? If the results came instantly, we would never see the potential we have. We would never grow or develop a solid experience from the struggles and hardships. I know many people will not agree with everything I’ve written or said whether in this piece or many other pieces. Some people may think I’ve lost my mind and some people will agree but that is the matter of your opinion. I am only here to share ideas, experiences, here to help you to be, as one of the people who inspire me says “the strongest version of yourselves.” This is what inspires me to be positive. Life is short and you’ve always been blessed compared to someone else. Someone below you, so why not be positive? What don’t you have? If you are alive today, reading this, doing many things, then you have no reason to have a negative state of mind no matter what has happened in your life thus far. Im sure the people who are dead, would agree with me because they no longer have a chance to taste, touch, feel, see while you do. Be positive, smile, it fixes the heart and makes it beat a bit slower and slows you down from thinking negatively.
We are constantly changing who we are on a day to day basis. No matter the little things you do, the things you learn, they are helping you change into the person you will become. Some people when going through changes, they take everything life has thrown at them and sit in a dark place. They sit in this dark place, concentrating on life’s sorrows which were intended to make them stronger. Depression doesn’t make you weak. It helps strengthen your mind to overcome life’s trials. They are there to help you progress in a way that is unimaginable. There are many things we don’t know about ourselves until we are placed into those circumstances. Some people never want to leave or progress further and some people take it for what is, no matter how tough it is, no matter how draining it is, they battle with their heart and soul to change the situation they are in. Change is going to happen, no matter what your life may look like so when you change, change to overcome situations easier, to be happier, to get to a better place. You are not static, to be in one place, to be in one mind set and to be upset about life’s trials. Overcome and progress. Nothing in life is difficult, it’s just how we shape our attitude when difficulties arise. Everything given has been given by the will of Allah and will always be, especially the strength we possess to overcome whatever it may be. Don’t doubt your ability nor doubt the strength of prayer either. Change always for the better, to improve your life not to go back to the life that held you back or that made you stay in a state of mind that doubted your strength.
People think success is money, cars, lots of materialistic things but that is not true success, not even close to it. True success is reaching contentment within your heart. Understanding your failures, understanding your past and accepting the blessings that come through those things. How many of us look at life and say, truly say, alhumdulilah (thanks to Allah) for everything that has happened? Many of us don’t say that because we dwell on so many things that have passed us by. We hang onto these things with utter disappointment. We can’t look at ourselves in the mirror because we feel we have failed ourselves but we have not. None of these things are failures but these are building blocks to finding that success we truly want and we truly deserve. Success begins with accepting the decree of Allah and that is with everything. We must always tie our camel, leave the rest to Allah, smile proudly and walk through any door we please believing with sincerity that what is going on beyond that door is best for me and what will happen Allah is going to will for me. It is for my growth as a person. It is for my growth as coming closer to Allah and him denying my wishes, is not because He dislikes something for me or because he doesn’t understand what I am going through but because He always wants the BEST for you. Don’t ever settle for just good because if Allah gives you the BEST in everything, make sure what you want in life is the best and the best thing is, contentment within your heart. Find it, keep it and cherish it. Never let it go because it’s what true success really is.
